Program Full? Still complete your online registration. Your child will be added to the waitlist, and we will contact you if a spot opens or the program expands.

Program Requirements: Participants must meet the age and skill level listed. If not, and without prior written approval, we will transfer the registration to a suitable program.

Progression: At The Burlington Pond, we don’t hold players back. If your child is ready for a higher-level clinic mid-session, we will move them—pending instructor approval.

Important Program Information & Disclaimers

  • Welcome to our Learn to Skate program! Please take a moment to review the following important information to help ensure a safe, supportive, and successful experience for all participants.

Evaluation & Orientation

  • The first session will serve as both an evaluation and orientation day. During this time, our coaches will assess each skater’s skill level. Based on this evaluation, your child may be reassigned to a different group to better match their developmental needs and ensure they receive appropriate instruction.

Age & Readiness Requirements

  • Skaters must be at least three years old by the program start date. Unfortunately, we are unable to accept two-year-olds.
  • All skaters must be able to separate from their parents or guardian and follow the directions of our on-ice Learn to Skate (LTS) coaches.

Parent Guidelines

  • To support your child’s learning and maintain a safe environment:
  • Parents are not permitted on the ice during class.
  • Please refrain from standing at the boards, as this can be distracting for skaters and may compromise safety.
  • Personal toys and equipment such as outside toys and equipment  are not permitted.
  • We appreciate your cooperation in helping us maintain a focused and supportive learning environment.

Behavior & Conduct

  • Our coaches are here to guide, encourage, and support your child throughout their skating journey. However, please note the following:

  • Parents/guardians are responsible for their child’s behavior at all times.
  • Coaching staff are not responsible for managing tantrums or behavioral disruptions.
  • Disrespectful behavior including the use of abusive language or aggressive conduct towards staff or other participants will not be tolerated.
