Pre-Rep Programs Ages 5–8

Program Full? Still complete your online registration. Your child will be added to the waitlist, and we will contact you if a spot opens or the program expands.

Program Requirements: Participants must meet the age and skill level listed. If not, and without prior written approval, we will transfer the registration to a suitable program.

Progression: At The Burlington Pond, we don’t hold players back. If your child is ready for a higher-level clinic mid-session, we will move them—pending instructor approval.

E​valuation Policy: Please be aware that the first session date serves as an evaluation or the first session date player attends (late registrations). Following evaluations, if our Pond Coaches determine that your child may be better suited for another clinic, we will promptly notify you via email. Your child may also be moved to another group time as deemed appropriate. Thank you for your understanding

Pre-Rep Programs Ages 5–8

Our Pre-Rep sessions is the road to REP HOCKEY. These clinics provide the skating and hockey skills needed to build a solid hockey foundation. All Pre-Rep Player clinics require Full Hockey Equipment. Progressing through these programs provides players with the tools they need for optimal development to achieve all levels of Rep Hockey and beyond. Full Hockey Equipment Required.

Power Skating Ages 5/6:
For players who have completed Advanced Kinder Hockey or can demonstrate strong skating skills (forward/backward, stops both ways), or are approved by a Pond instructor.

The program focuses on hockey stance, balance, foot speed, stride, edge control, pivoting, and crossovers preparing players for Power Skating Ages 7/8 and progression toward rep hockey.

Power Skating Ages 5/6

Session Dates: October 6, 20, 27, November 3, 10, 17, 24 (7 sessions)
Please note no session on Thanksgiving Monday, October 13th

Power Skating Ages 5/6

Session Dates: December 1, 8, 15, January 5, 12, 19, 26 (7 sessions)

PUCK SKILLS Ages 5/6:

Participants in this program should have either completed Power Skating Ages 5/6 or must demonstrate proficiency in forward and backward skating, as well as perform stops in both directions or are approved by a Pond instructor. 

This program will focus on: improving fundamental puck control skills including stick handling, navigating with the puck, sprints with the puck, passing and shooting. In addition to these foundational puck skills players will engage in simple team drills and puck races to enhance their skills. This program aims to build upon foundational puck skills and will prepare the player for Power Puck Skills ages 7/8 and their advancement on their path to rep hockey.

Power Skating Ages 7, 8:
For players who have completed Power Skating 5/6, or play U8/U9 rep hockey, or demonstrate advanced skills approved by a Pond instructor.

This program focuses on refining skating fundamentals like crossovers, pivots, stride, and foot speed. Players will also work on explosive starts, overspeed drills, mohawks, and edge control building the skills needed for success in rep hockey.

Puck Skills Ages 7,8:
For players who have completed Power Skating ages 7/8, play U8/U9 rep hockey, or have advanced skating skills approved by a Pond instructor.

The program focuses on puck control, stickhandling, passing, shooting, and puck movement at speed. Players will develop quickness and execute advanced drills building key skills for rep hockey.

Office Staff must approve the drop in requests. Please wait for email confirmation. No phone calls required to be submitted by email only. In order to track. Valid September 2025 to March 2026. No refunds or credits if passes are not used.
