The Burlington Pond is open all year round with a main focus on constant development and immediate correction. Our progressive drills touch on all aspects of skating and skill development with a concentration on efficient techniques. All House league Clinics require full hockey equipment.
This program is geared towards skaters ages 4-6 years old who already have the basics of skating down pat. Lessons are based around fun & development as we prepare your child for future hockey programs.
Skaters MUST be able to skate forwards & backwards and must be able to stand up on their own when they fall down.
This program will focus on:
- Faster forwards skating
- Backwards skating
- Introduction to edge work
- Introduction to Cross-overs
- Skating with the puck & some puck control

Super 5’s & 6’s
Players ages 5 & 6 who are above the average skill level (or approved by Pond Instructor)
This program offers young players the fundamentals of playing hockey at the rep level. High tempo sessions revolving around power skating to advance stride, quickness, and agility coupled with overspeed drills and puck handling to develop puck control and shot.
This Program will focus on:
- Power Skating
- Explosive Quick Starts
- Edge Control incl. Crossovers; forward and backwards
- Puck handling & Passing

Ages: 5 & 6 years
Level: Advanced Houseleague Players

SUNDAYS Hockey Skills & Drills
We offer THREE Hockey Skills & Drills classes: Beginner, Intermediate & Advanced.
These progressive programs allow the players to excel as their skills improve.
BEGINNER focus: Forwards skating development, Backwards skating development, Introduction to edges, Basic Stopping & beginner puck drills
INTERMEDIATE focus: Forwards skating with speed/power, Backwards Skating with speed, Edge work, Stopping on both sides, Turns, Crossovers & Skating with the puck
ADVANCED focus: Forwards quick starts, Backwards crossovers, Advanced edges, Transitions / quick change of direction, Skating and transitions with the puck.
**These are simple guidelines for each program. Our instructor will work on various skills within these skills & guidelines.
Beginners Ages 6 – 8– 11:15am – 12:00pm
Beginners Ages 9 – 11 – 12:15pm – 1:00pm
Intermediate / Advanced – 1:15pm – 2:00pm
**Currently Intermediate and Advanced are one class at 12:15pm
Houseleague Power & Puck
Work on all hockey fundamentals, find proper balance points and learn how to use edges efficiently.
• Overall Posture & Technique, Stride
• Transitions (Turns, pivots, mohawks etc.)
• Power, Speed & Agility
• Puck handling to develop puck control and shot.
Head Instructor: Michele Moore, Greg Moore & Ryan Moore.
Michele coaches one week, Greg / Ryan will coach the following week. They will run on a biweekly rotation.
Ages: 7 – 11
Private / Small Group Shooting with Ryan Moore
Semi – private or small group shooting lessons are tailored to individual needs. Players are asked to organize their own group of 2 – 3 players of similar skill level. Our 30′ x 30′ shooting pad offers plenty of room for puck and foot movement while shooting.
Train with the shot expert, Ryan Moore and enter spring tryouts with a heavy shot!
Pricing & Booking Details:
Pricing includes three 30 minute lessons. Lessons are to be booked directly with The Pond’s office after the group has registered individually.
$75 +HST per player – Group of 3 players
$112.50 +HST per player – Group of 2 players
$150 +HST – Private Lesson

All Flex Pass purchases are valid from September 1st, 2017 – March 31st, 2018 regardless of date of purchase.
Flex Passes are non-refundable, non-transferable and no credits on account will be issued. Flex Pass excludes Learn to Skate & Kinderskate.
